Fighting Illiteracy in Uganda
The latest estimates indicate that approximately 26% of Ugandans are illiterate. This means that about 11.9 million people in Uganda are unable to read and write. While there have been improvements in literacy rates over the past decade, challenges remain, particularly in access to quality education and resources, according to a report from Daily Monitor.
As Utunzaji Foundation Uganda, we are working towards solving this problem by sponsoring children who have lost their parents, and those whose academic future has succumbed to the effects of domestic violence and alcoholism. Join us in the struggle to fight against illiteracy one child at a time.
